Cameroon: The 2017-2018 Cocoa Season Begins with Lower Prices

Cameroon: the 2017-2018 cocoa season begins with an average farm-gate price of 875 CFA francs per kg, down from 1,400 CFA francs in 2016-2017.

Since mid-July 2017, farm-gate cocoa prices in Cameroon have fallen again, dropping below the 900 CFA franc mark.

According to reference prices released under the Sector Information System (SIF), this price has stood at 875 CFA francs since then, and remains current since the launch of the new season on August 25, 2017, in the town of Ntui, in Cameroon's Centre region.
